Alain O Donaileposted toDublin West, Campaign Against Property Tax and Austerity (CAPTA) Some questions if I may, So is the AAA a political party ? , will the DUb west campaign against the property tax be wound up ?. When was the Alliance set up ? What is the Plan to stop the water charges, given the failure of the NO PAY/ Boycott of the Property tax. ( Please dont tell me its another NO PAY campaign. We need to move away from the blind alley of no pay , it only demoralises people. We need to focus on the councillors who support this measure...Labour , Fianna Fail , and Fine Gael. The campaign must expose these councillors for what they are , mouthpieces for Burton, Varadkar and lets Not forget what FF did. (water charges are in their programme for Gov.) * For the record, Sinn Féin is totally opposed to water charges and metering. We believe that central funding through taxation pays for our water system. Investment in repairing the victorian leaking pipe system would massively conserve water. (48% of all treated water is lost through broken pipes) We believe that there is a move to prepare our water system for privatisation and we totally oppose this. In the North of Ireland , our minister Conor Murphy blocked the introduction of water charges there.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/local-national/northern-ireland/bill-extends-water-charge-block-29110674.html THERE IS NO SEPARATE WATER CHARGE IN THE NORTH. The situation is the six counties is that there are rates payable, For your rates you get all your bins collected, school books, School transport, GP care, water and there is no A&E hospital visit charge and No prescription charges. This system funds local Gov. there. *It must be noted that the transitional arrangement in the North is funded by a block grant from London and the executive has no fiscal powers and no tax raising powers, and of course SF are committed to devolving these powers back to the Island.) sinnfein.ie/contents/23113
