Alan Turing was quite simply put a genius. And there is no way to describe him. For those of you who studied Computer Science will no doubt know of the Turing Machine. In 1944 he could as well be living in 2014. His mind was that far advance. He broke the German Enigma Code in WWII and in the early 50s he created the basis for the modern day computer we use now. An Excerpt: [This award-winning film tells the story of one of the 20th century’s most important people. Alan Turing set in motion the computer age and his World War II codebreaking helped save two million lives. Yet few people have heard his name, know his tragic story, or understand his important legacy. In 1954, Turing committed suicide at age 41 after being forced to undergo chemical castration because he was gay. He left behind a lasting legacy and lingering questions about what else he might have accomplished if society had embraced his unique genius instead of rejecting it.] #AlanTuring #Codebreaker #TuringFilm #EnigmaMachine #WWII #Computing #Computer #England #Germany Garden Land, Barbados BarbadosInFocus Keith Clarke Photography
