Alena had yet another doctors appointment today. On Thursday A pediatrician at my doctors office handed me a can of formula and said shes not gaining weight fast enough. Ive never felt so unsupported as a mom by a health care professional in my almost 4 years being a mom. If it were my normal pedi I wouldve been switching offices, but this pedi is leaving the practice at the end of the month. I left the office feeling like a failure, a Bad mother, and that my baby was starving. Ive spent the last two day feeding like crazy, pumping, and taking supplements. My littlest daughter gained 4 oz in 2 days! Thats 2 oz per day!!! Usually they like to see 1/2 oz per day. So Id like to say screw you to that doctor that wanted me to put poison in my child when I was a willing and able mother whom wanted to solely breastfeeding. The NP I saw today was so happy with me for listening to my gut and not giving formula. I feel like a million bucks :)
