Alex Lightman: NEW YORK GOVERNOR CUOMO BANS FRACKING IN SECOND LARGEST US STATE Second big win of the day...thanks in large part to Varushka Franceschi and Julie Ann Edgar, Fractivists Par Excellence, who are unstoppable juggernauts of righteous focused fury. Its a big win for me, too, or, at least, the new me. I am a reformed former drilling engineer who worked for the pioneer of fracking, Mitchell Energy and Development. Drilling oil wells was how I made $20-30K a year in summers and winters while I was a full time student at MIT. But it was dirty money. Poison money. Blood money. Along with several of my good friends, since my friends gave me a clue, Ive been outspoken against fracking, and have one of the few TED or TEDx branded talks that says fracking = fraccidents and water poisoning, and should be 100% eliminated...on the way to completely ending use of oil, coal, and natural gas by 2030. Today the governor of New York BANNED fracking in New York State. Watch the talk. Read the slides.
