Alex is experiencing continued unbearable pain in her stomach and also lower ribs. She says it hurts to breathe. Her heart rate and blood pressures increase when the pain meds have been increased, so this has been a continuing issue the medical team has been trying to solve. The pain team is now making changes to medications to help combat this for her. Also, shes been off her seizure medications since Thursday morning, and shes having some increased seizure activity. Weve asked for a neurology consult to see about adding on some type of IV seizure medication. Alexs throat is still very sore. Shes not able to eat or drink right now, so shes getting mouth swabs of ice cold water, but thats it. The good news is her blood sugars are very stable, so she is just on the smallest amount of insulin possible. She had a better night overnight than Thursday, but still isnt really resting for longer than 20 minutes at a time. Her surgical site looks great. She sat up in a chair yesterday, and shell need to do that again today at least twice. Alex is requesting prayer for immediate pain control, that this surgery has/will relieve the chronic pain shes had in the past, and along with that, a stable heart rate & blood pressures. We also ask for her seizures to be quickly controlled, continued healing of her surgical site, and that she has the overall strength and stamina she needs to recover well, completely, and quickly.
