Ali is 3 years old and he is a Syrian Refugee. He is poor, owns one grease covered outfit and lives in a one room house with several other families. Yet the smile on his face and that precious little giggle could light up anyones day. I miss this kid and it make my heart hurt just to know that he is still there, still living each day wandering around on the streets. Who knows who will influence him as he grows up and whether or not he will have an opportunity for a good life. But I sure hope that something I did or said made an impact on his little innocent heart and that he will know the love of Jesus. Sometimes I dont understand why life isnt fair, but I do see that through the eyes of a child, he still sees JOY in his circumstances...and to me, that is a valuable lesson for me to learn over and over again each day as I remember him and his infectious laugh.
