Alices Adventure Walk: Hi Jaime, Thanks so much for sponsoring an adventure for a dog from Richmond Animal League! I have to say, this little girl is just fantastic. Alice and I had the best time and she is a true adventurer. Alice is a small dog with a BIG personality and zest for life. While we rode to Robious Landing Park, she ran from side to side in my backseat so she wouldnt miss any good sniffs from the cracked windows. In fact, a couple of times she had her whole head out the window and her ears flapping in the breeze. Once we got there, Alice was ready to go. Due to the drought, only one creek at the park still has running water and I decided to start there. Alice immediately ran down the bank to the creek bed and began to explore. She ran up and down the banks, sometimes jumping from one to the other. She had a blast! Plus, she did a little mud digging and got her toes wet. Then, it was time to walk and check out the forest. Everybody we met on the trail loved Alice and she loved them right back. She is very friendly, but doesnt get over excited or jumpy - impressive in such a young dog. We met a lot of dogs along the way and she got to play with a couple. I felt bad keeping her on a leash because it really hinders playtime, but she made it work. Alice would clearly enjoy having canine companions in her new home. I could tell she was getting hot so I cut the walk short and headed to the boat ramp. It turns out, little Alice is quite the swimmer! She walked right in and, when it got deep enough, started paddling. Shes not the most graceful swimmer, but she sure does love it. I wanted a chance to take some better photos, so we walked a bit farther down the trail to the main boat launch. Alice ran down the stairs, skipped over the rocks, and jumped right in the water. She just couldnt get enough swim time! While we were there, a boat pulled up at the floating dock nearby to load some passengers and Alice was entranced. Shes so curious about people and was obviously ready to go for a ride with them. Her curiosity made her want to see more, so she ran up and down the stairs for better views. That made for a great photo shoot and she was able to work out some energy. Alice is the perfect dog for a family who spends time on the water. Her small size doesnt take up too much room - she could sit on a seat, bench, or even curl up in a corner. I know she would love to feel the wind in her face and be able to jump in for a swim when the boat is anchored. Plus, she would be adorable in a little life vest! Alice is available with Richmond Animal League. If youre interested in sponsoring an Adventure Walk for a rescued dog, please visit canineadventure.net/store/sponsored-walk
