All I want for my upcoming birthday next week is to ask for support for this fundraising campaign for Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission - for those who dont know the mission, this is where over 100 families and individuals come for all kinds of help every week, from food and clothing to help with utility bills, to support and advocacy for family members in detention & deportation proceedings, to engage in the struggle for access to healthcare and not being excluded from organ transplant lists based on immigration status ... this is a community that gathers together not only for prayer and worship, but for concrete action to help create justice and hope in our world. In order to continue our work, we need to be able to continue to have a space where we can gather and work and welcome all who come to us in need. Id also like to ask that if anyone was thinking of acknowledging my birthday in any way this year, consider skipping cards and gifts and instead, donate $5 or $25 or $100 or whatever you can to help support the mission.
