All day, and in her dreams (nightmares) last night, Iris has been feverishly shouting the red, round things, the red round things!!!. She got all stroppy at tea time tonight. When presented with her meal, she took up shouting again the round ones, pink ones, pink round ones with dots and fell on the floor in a Greek tragedy style whilst pulling her hair out and beating herself around the face - she refused to eat anything at all and went to her bath time sobbing and muttering round ones, round ones. By process of elimination and gentle, probing questioning and, later, good cop / bad cop interrogation by me and her dad....and after a lot of false hopes....and misunderstandings (is it peppers, is it balls from the ball pit, is it red bobbles....) I now know that my daughter was asking for slices of Pepperoni....How or where she encountered it or why its become such a pressing concern that it would wake her up at night is still a mystery. But the red round things are Pepperoni. Im tired. I also post a lot about my children. Whatevs.
