All done watching Hunter X Hunter. All 148 episodes. Many things - TopicsExpress

All done watching Hunter X Hunter. All 148 episodes. Many things were unresolved, but I suppose itd be a bit weird if every potential plot ever mentioned got neatly wrapped up by the end. Still... the end felt rather rushed. Like too many things were arbitrarily introduced and never went anywhere. #1. Hisoka ceased to exist after randomly killing the coin-butler. Didnt show up nor even get mentioned after that. After how much time for the entirety of the series he hogged, it seemed a bizarre point to just vanish him away. #2. The Phantom Troupe were last seen in the middle of the Chimera Ant arc clearing out a building in Meteor City... then were never seen, heard nor mentioned again. This includes at least one who never even played a part anywhere else in the story only arbitrarily letting loose for one fight out of nowhere before being written off with the rest. #3. Chrollo, after getting sealed by Kurapika, was left on some mountain somewhere. The entire presence of Hisoka and the Troupe in the Greed Island arc was entirely for the sake of healing him, but he wasnt seen during nor after that, and whether it got resolved or not was never mentioned. #4. Despite all the Chimera Ants remembering their past lives as random NPCs and whatnot, we saw no resurrection of Pokkle nor Ponzu (poor Ponzu). Also no suggestion that Kurt / Colt ever went back to Reina... given the whole weird thing with Kite being reborn. #5. Senritsus quest for the Sonata of Darkness. Seemed like a big deal. Was mentioned once then never repeated. #6. Kurapika pretty much dropped off the face of the earth after the Auction saga. Kind of a big deal since he was ostensibly one of the four main characters of the show in general. In the last arc he was shown twice sitting in a dark room... the implication being that he had done all he needed to do off-screen and basically who needs friends anyway? #7. Oh, and why bother mentioning all the rules for Alluka (gender-anomaly) Zoldyck when theyre not even going to get used for anything? That last mini-arc was just a bit... weird and pointless. Anyway... that is that. Not lacking in entertainment, I suppose... but of all the long shonen anime Ive watched, it is easily the most full of plot-holes.
