All night I have been watching the video of Craig’s performance while trying to come up with the words that accurately describe how and what I’m feeling. After my most recent viewing of the video it finally hit me: While staring at the screen and hardly breathing I realized that I am totally, completely mesmerized by this performance … and this man. He commands my attention, which isn’t an easy thing to do, trust me. When Craig is on the stage I can’t look anywhere except at him. I am spellbound. When he is singing I don’t want to make a move because I’m afraid I’ll miss one second of hearing his amazing voice. His performance of I Walk the Line on Monday night was flawless and phenomenal. But more importantly it came straight from his heart ... the place where his son lives. While Craig is the epitome of a man’s man these past two weeks have shown that he is a combination of heart and soul, tenderness and strength, power and control, and raw emotion. I’ve been a fan from his original hometown for several years and have always appreciated his music. But Craig’s performance on Monday night touched me. I physically felt every word the man sang and was so moved that I cried. I found myself moving closer and closer to the television screen so I could be closer to him. Once his performance was over I stood in the middle of the living room in total silence for several minutes. It was as if I had to let my brain process what I’d just witnessed and give myself time to wrap my mind around the fact that Craig took a legendary song and created a brand new legend with this performance. Craig is one of those artists who doesn’t come along every day. He is a rare breed … beyond talented, incredibly humble, and so generous with his time that he never forgets his fans. God truly blessed this man called Craig Wayne Boyd … and we are so very blessed to be able to witness the beginning of absolute greatness. ~SVF~
