All of us were made by God with a set purpose to achieve in life. This divine purpose to impact the world for HIS Kingdom was first set in motion #InTheSpirit. This is why 1) #AdamAndEves creation was cataloged twice in Genesis (first in Spirit, then as being fashioned from #TheDustOfTheGround, respectively; see Genesis 1:27-28 and 2:7) and 2) God told Jeremiah “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee” (Jeremiah 1:5). Children often begin displaying this purpose early on – we just have to pay attention to the signs. A reminder of my son’s signs came while we were watching #MrPeabodyAndSherman this past weekend… and I almost missed it. Josiah ended up getting scared in the movie and wanted to leave with 20 minutes left. Once I got to him outside, I drilled him about why he had left (and wasted my money!)– the movie wasn’t scary so I couldn’t understand why he told his mother he was scared. I had a chance to process what he said after I settled my emotions (did I mention that made me upset?) and I remember him getting sad when we saw the last #MuppetsMovie. He was sad because everybody was rejecting #TheMuppets. Josiah picked up on that and asked if he could leave. In a similar fashion ( #SpoilerAlert), there was a point in the movie where it looked like Mr. Peabody was going to lose custody of Sherman (you read that right!) which is what made Josiah sad. I have observed in the past that my son has a #BigHeart: a servant’s heart. We have tried to cultivate that by giving him opportunities to think about others instead of himself. His last two birthdays gave him opportunities to give away toys he received to children in need: not just on Christmas but on the one day that we’ve trained our children is supposed to be all about them. When I pitched the idea to him, he was more receptive and excited than many of the children’s parents that came #BearingGifts! He will become a #ServantLeader earlier and longer with what we are able to observe and cultivate today. What signs have your children shown? Not quite sure what his younger sister is showing me just yet… she’s just about to #TakeTheWorldByStorm whether she knows she’s #anointed or not! Pay attention to your children’s signs (and I am NOT talking about #Pisces and #Aquarius!), it may cost them later if you don’t.
