All right. I got one of those number things and my number is 7. Here are 7 things you probably dont know about me. If you like or comment, Ill give you a number and you can post. 1. I didnt go to my prom and, depsite dire predictions, I have never once regretted it. Prom is not magic and if I had gone I would have had a good time but as it stands, I really have enjoyed my life quite a bit and there is no great Prom hole in my soul. 2. Ive always been afraid of dogs. The second most empowering thing Ive ever done was to become a dog trainer. 3. I have formally studied 5 foreign languages- German, Latin, French, Spanish and Japanese. I also know a lot of ASL but would like to get even better eventually. German is by far my favorite though I have a 2 hour German lesson every week. 4. My original career goal out of high school was to be a politician. I started working on others campaigns when I was 12. Ive been elected to two different municpal offices, once as a Democrat (I was 18 at the time) and once as a Republican. I belong to neither party now and hope someday to have to run again as a Libertarian. 5. I failed my senior year (which has nothing to do with #1 :-) ). As a result, I was dropped by the college that had accepted me and ended up in Houston, the best city in the country. Ive also dropped out of more colleges than most people apply to and enjoyed many majors and minors along the way. 6. I birthed 3 of my 4 kids at home (the first most empowering thing Ive done) and if I had the opportunity to do it again, I would have them all at home. I also did the whole attachment parenting thing but considering I was a young Republican at the time, I was in no way a hippie even though we also grew almost all of our own food and had no television or radio for years. 7. When I was younger two of my great loves were playing the cello and ballet. I was also into sports though I never played on any school teams (except, now that I think about it, the boys track and field team in middle school). Baseball was my favorite. Not softball. Baseball. These were followed by volleyball and basketball.
