All right everyone, as promised; here is my video of a Monarch caterpillar pupating/shedding its skin into a chrysalis. It takes the caterpillar about 8-10 minutes to shed its skin and then about another 45 minutes to form into the chrysalis we are familiar with. I speeded the time up on the video after 11 minutes as not to make it too long. This is really different compared to the butterfly hatching!! Hope you enjoy.
