All right, given my current woeful & woebegone state, this will be brief and uninspiring. Whats new - aside from me having a miserable cold w/ significant asthma complications (as if thats not enough?) - well, it would seem that the hijacking theory for the missing jet is gaining credence. Duh. There are still more questions than answers & may always be so. No one has claimed credit for an outright act of terrorism as in blowing up the plane nor has one been reported as landing in some far-flung area (which would have to have a pretty substantial air strip), so the remaining options are not happy ones. It still seems odd to me that a jet liner could literally slip beneath the radar, satellite imagery, or any of the other high-tech spy ware to the extent of disappearing. In addition, youve got a plane load of about 250 Asians - dont even tell me that none of them had cell phones, lap tops, or all the latest gadgetry that befuddles me but everyone else seems to use with casual ease. So, what? - no calls, texts, tweets, e-mails, nada? If there werent, then the jet had to be over water or some place else without any kind of a signal. Such as Casey County. And, if there was (for example) a suicidal hijacker with serious piloting skills - why did so many people seemingly not take some sort of action? More questions than answers. On a happier note - two zinnias from saved seed have sprouted, thus giving me hope for the spring despite another Polar Punch heading this way. Lord, but I am sooo ready for warm weather. Tell me again, why did I leave South Florida & the Bahamas?? I do have more seeds on order - primarily cottage garden flowers - and a few rose plants. My hopeful plan is to set out a real herb garden this year although it wont be one of those beautiful Elizabethan ones edged with box, lavender, or rosemary. Nor will it be country cunning with old wagon wheels or salvaged bricks marking out neat beds. If Im lucky, Brucell get the logs split & stacked and the area tilled up in time for planting - so it may have a pleasant enough place to sit (a necessity for those of us with arthritic knees) with the remainder of the area (of unspecified size) devoted to herbs beds with a few edible flowers thrown in for good measure. Probably this is the best I can manage, given the urgent call of tomatoes, peppers, etc. And with this, Im going in search of cough syrup & Kleenex.
