All situations are about perspective and attitude. In Hamlet, - TopicsExpress

All situations are about perspective and attitude. In Hamlet, Shakespeare wrote nothing is either good or bad but thinking makes it so. Part of the genius of Shakespeare is that, while this is certainly not an original concept, such a common idea is stated so eloquently that through the beauty of his words the lesson and wisdom therein are forever etched into the consciousness of the reader. Another man, so much more wise than I, yet whose name escapes me, wrote I remain convinced that life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react. This echos the words of Shakespeare, and is one of the most sacred truths of the human experience. It is through this truth that one learns to cope with, and, even welcome adversity. Where one person may see a particularly challenging situation as a source of stress, perhaps even avoiding or shrinking away in fear, another will see the same challenges as opportunities. Having ones character, strength and resolve tested is the ONLY way to grow, to improve and evolve. We can walk through the fire, unaffected by the flames, through the force of sheer will. It is a choice. Every action, reaction, every emotional impulse, these are the choices we make daily, and even the most seemingly insignificant of these has the potential to shape our lives in a myriad of unseen ways. What you choose to think, to feel; the actions you choose; all are under your direct control, whether you choose to acknowledge it or not. Your destiny is your own, the outcome of your choices is yours. Choose wisely, and others may call you lucky, fortunate, successful. Chose poorly, or let your fate be decided through inaction, and you may become one of those who sit back and cry about how unfair life is. But know this; you are far more powerful than you may ever know. After all, what more are we than the sum of our choices?
