All these events from today got me wondering what the true agenda of Raul Castro and his regime is. They had the opportunity to let Tania do her performance, show the world that they are actually willing to open up, while keeping the lid on the situation considering that the majority of the population would have been unaware of it considering the lack of internet and access to information. At The same time by being tolerant with this initiative, they would proven wrong Obamas opposition and all those criticizing his Dec. 17 announcement of restoring relations with Cuba. Instead, they just confirm what many were afraid of... And I wonder why... Is this just another instance of the tale if the scorpion and the frog? Or the regimes way of sabotage any possible chance of the embargo to be ever lifted? We all know the embargo has been their excuse for ages to justify their own failures. Was this another way for them to identify their true followers from those who just cant take it anymore? Like that infamous rectificacion de errores from the late 80s lead by Carlos Aldana? I dont know... I was really hopeful about some light at the end of the tunnel, but I dont see any real chance for change happening anytime soon.
