All those who comment to the contrary on this site are not aware of the facts that give evidence to elements of BASI being not fit for purpose. By and large the actual ski aspects are recoverable, however, the business aspects are dire. The current management and oversight by the board is out of control with decisions being made that will potentially cause the demise of the association. Those with principles and integrity are being ignored by those with clear business and ski politic interests that cannot fail to have an impact on their decisions – to the detriment of the majority of BASI members. Board members are constrained by their agreement that all sensitive information must be kept confidential. That policy is hiding facts that are damaging to the company’s reputation that all members should be aware of. There is a current situation that is being manipulated by the board to the detriment of BASI being an open, clear, and principled organisation. The only option left for those with integrity that understand where the BASI board is going wrong is to resign. That option should raise sufficient concern in the membership to demand an independent inquiry into the various issues that are raising questions on the governance of the association and the actions being taken by the board and executive management. The inquiry should be led by someone, or a body that has no discernable, or declared, conflict of interest in the substance of the inquiry. You should now all ask yourselves why the Alpine Director resigned yesterday. As a clue its not because of his wrongdoing.
