All thought systems carry an inherent bias. I once had a long inquisitive conversation with someone about their Mormonism. At the end, I thanked her for the information and asked, Do you feel that Mormonism is the right religion for all, if not now, then eventually? and she said yes. I felt judged yet appreciative of her honesty and overall POV. We all know about centuries old religions that also feel this way, often times harming or even killing another who doesnt convert or believe in what is deemed the right way. But then it hit me that people who identify as spiritual often feel that ours is the right way, too. If not now, then eventually also applies. In the end, all will see that light. Its common rhetoric to say, But Im not judging, more observing yet if I or anyone thinks mine or theirs is the best way, then doesnt that indicate an inherent bias as well?
