All too often things are swept under the mat, some important, - TopicsExpress

All too often things are swept under the mat, some important, others not so much. Perspective is what makes them important and not so much. I have been friends with a wonderful woman and her family for the past several years. Our daughters are best friends. She is a caregiver for her PTSD, TBI husband who served multiple tours of duty fighting for our country. She is part of a group that recently went to Washington, D.C. to be nationally recognized with several other caregivers. The Elizabeth Dole Foundation. https://facebook/ElizabethDoleFoundation Without caregivers, these Vets return home, and often times do not receive the medicine, doctors, care, love, and support they often need to transition to life back home. Caregivers make their lives manageable and worth living. Although, sadly, these vets all to often face suicide. The current number is 22 a day. 22 Suicides by Vets a day. They are fighting for our freedoms, our country to come back and not have the support they need to function. It makes me sick. Everyone can pick and choose their battles, This is important. This is real families, and real lives. Recently one of the women my dear friend went to Washington D.C. with went through insurmountable challenges. Her husband, a Vet, with PTSD, later suffered further damage through an accident once home. She is also facing medical challenges on her own. They have 3 young boys. New Year’s Eve, he took his own life. The VA is not helping, and not being supportive. But there is a group trying to help this family in their time of need. 100% of the proceeds go directly to the family. If anyone wants to donate, please consider this family. I do not ask for many things, but this story, I sadly can assure, you is very real. Thank you for reading. tinyurl/FOV-TN
