Alleged invasion: IGP, Police sued for N150m AN Onitsha-based company, Everest Umeugo and Sons Nigeria Limited, has dragged the Inspector-General of Police and Nigeria Police before Anambra State High Court sitting in Onitsha for alleged trespass and damage to its property. The company is asking the court to order the police to cough out a whopping N150 million as damages for the alleged invasion and destruction of its property and goods in its Onitsha shops. Joined in the suit are Anambra State Police Commissioner, Onitsha Police Area Commander and DPO of Central Police Station, Onitsha. Also joined are Ike Okolonji, Pastor Amechi Ekwerekwu and Mr. Harold Ekwerekwu, said to be members of the family that owns the disputed land that resulted in the alleged damage of property.
