Almighty God, may we consider this day, the place in which we stand: and may we not be deceived in thinking that we are near You while we are living far away. We humble ourselves in Your sight, this day, for our importance and approval comes from You. Bless us, dear God, with Your grace; raise us up and cause our lives to be significant; for we shall be made complete in You. Lord as we have received Your promise of the Holy Spirit, wake us now to the instant claims of Your Holy will; not waiting for tomorrow, but yielding today. Lay to rest, by the persuasion of Your Spirit, the resistance of our passions or our fears. Consecrate with Your presence, O Lord, the way our feet may go; that humility would shine forth in our work, and the roughest places be made plain. Lift us above unrighteous anger and mistrust into faith and hope and charity by a simple and steadfast reliance on Your sure will. In all things draw us to the mind of Christ, that Your lost image may be traced again, and You may own us at one with Him and Thee. In the matchless name of Jesus the Christ, we do pray and declare it all. Amen.
