Almost every year, Indonesia has given shit to her neighbours, Singapore and Malaysia. Million of dollars are lost and incurred in terms of decreased productivity and health bills respectively. Each year Indonesia has turned a complete blind eye on this issue and makes a bloody mockery of neighbourliness and international relations. As early as 1997, Suharto apologised for blanketing this region with choking haze and promised to "level best to prevent and overcome the ongoing bush and forest fires raging in our country". MY FOOT! At ASEAN level, we have the so-called high powered "Sub-Regional Ministerial Steering Committee" for trans-boundary haze. Again, MY FOOT! They met last year on 31st October in Bali. WHAT THE FECK HAS BEEN ACHIEVED? Indonesia should really arrest and punish all those who are responsible for massive open burning every year. Read them the riot act and impose the heaviest punishment there is on these assholes. And if Malaysian companies are involved, Malaysia should also HAUL UP all their officers, including the whole bloody members of the Board of Directors for causing this utter crime against humanity. Yes. Even if the likes of Sime Darby or which ever company is involved, Malaysia should just do that. Otherwise, no amount of meetings or whatever sub-committee whatchamacallit would be able to solve this problem.
