Alright Gents. Need some insight. This morning of opening day I went and hunted public land. I get my butt up early, I get there early, I walk my frazen butt down the trail and find a cushy spot in the woods of the trail. I settle in, enjoy the early morning stars and then hear someone trudging through the woods towards me. I falsh my headlamp and he flashes back, yet continues to move at me. He gets within 20 feet and I flash my headlamp again. He flashes back then slaps his tree stand twice. At this point I am pissed so I get up and move toward him and he says sorry bout your luck but I set this treestand up 2 days ago. We get into it and I decide I am not going to ruin everyone elses hunt by openly arguing so I move on. But does he have rights to that spot?? Last I checked if you want to claim a certain spot, buy land and put your stand on it. On public land its first come first serve. Am I not right about this???
