Alright, I was previously very happy that Gary Oldman was (pretty much) cast in Star Wars Episode VII: A New Hope To Save The Franchise, and I was very excited for a few reasons. First of all, Gary Oldman? AWESOME. Hes a fantastic actor and could really revitalize the series, and then I realized something (because I saw a recent photo of him). He could play the PERFECT Kyle Katarn (who happens to be my favorite Star Wars character of all time, star of the video game that has defined my video game preferences, and was originally played by Jason Court who I had a conversation with when I found him on Facebook [he currently owns a winery in Napa, California called Evidence Wines]). I was thinking WOW, this guy could do it. He could really pull off an older Katarn, but it was staring me in the face and I didnt even realize it until now... Theres another nerd-dom that I belong to that is very frequently compared to Star Wars. That being Star Trek (The Next Generation is what Im really referring to). Now, as most people know (and my siblings probably know) Commander Riker played by Jonathan Frakes was my favorite character. When I was younger, it was because I thought he was Kyle Katarn the first time I watched the show. He had the look, the voice, the charisma, the badassery, and he has aged PERFECTLY. I want Jonathan Frakes to play an older Kyle Katarn in this new trilogy. Frakes just has to get back into shape. Ill settle for Oldman, but this is my desire. Besides, I doubt hell be as big a character as I want, and it would be interesting for JJ Abrams to put a crossover cameo (theres no better choice). I want this. I NEED this. Please...
