Alright. I would like to share some of my thoughts with the group. There is some disagreement about how to handle LEO encounters and different opinions about who is at fault or not. First off, as always be extremely respectful and as cooperative as you can be with law enforcement as long as they are showing you the same respect. Do not blame the LEO for approaching you. Let him/her do whatever they feel is necessary and cooperate with them. If you have any issues afterwards, there is a proper way to handle it. Being rude and confrontational when its not necessary will only make things worse for all. Everyone is focusing on the LEO to Carry citizen encounter. I do not believe this is the source of the problem, nor is it the area that we need to change. The encounter we should focus on is the one between the 911/dispatch operator and the individual making the complaint. The operators need to be trained to respond to false claims and accusations properly. If the complaint is that a man is carrying a holstered firearm in walMart, then that complaint does not warrant police reaction. If the individual is being aggressive or otherwise suspicious then send an officer but inform the caller that simply carrying a weapon is not a crime. Too many law abiding citizens and LEOs are receiving guff due to ignorant and/or paranoid people that call making false complaints. These people should be warned that making false accusations is illegal. The biggest goal of ArkansasCarry is educating the public. The more people we educate, the fewer the complaints will be to the police. If the complaint comes from management of the business you are at, then simply adhere to the requests and leave the property. If your not welcome, then remove yourself and your cash from the property.
