Alright guys, I need to make a decision, but I need your help. As you know, Ive been racing my truck and I got it down to 11.00 @ 119.6mph, with a 1.59 60 on leaf springs and a caltrac bar. I have the opportunity to get a 40 spline 9 inch fabbed housing, includes axles, disk brakes, 4 link, coil overs, and 10.5w x 33 tall slicks. The catch is that the housing is only 37.5 overall, and my frame in 33.75. So with a tire that big, I would need to narrow my frame a few inches on either side. My question to you is should I pull the trigger and backhalf this thing or leave it stock? I rather not kill the value of the truck, but at the same time i have a need for speed. The 4 link should put me in low 9s (with nitrous, and a trans brake). With that big of tire, I could hit it at peak hp from the start. Cutting up my bed would also be in the equation, as well as making various mounts for the bumpers and bed mount. Heres the car, that the rear came out of: Had a 60 of .970s @ 2200lbs with 1300 hp. (I can only make 1k with this block @ 3500lbs)
