Alright, so Im about to watch the Nintendo Direct for Smash Wii U and Im going to type up my thoughts as I go. Half an hour Direct, should be good! Starting with a trailer?! I predicted correctly :D // Okay, I didnt. The flaming cross tricked me. That announcer voice though. 1) Starting line-up - More characters, alright I guess. I love unlocking guys though. 2) Resolution - Looks awesome, but nothing I didnt already know :) // 5P Smash, alright. Works out well for me, theres usually one person missing out when I play with friends... // Fifth wheel, yes! That. // 6P? This is going to 8. 3) 8P Smash - YEP, this looks chaotic as hell. I like it. // Only certain stages? Blegh. I guess so. 8P would be hectic as is, I guess theyd be choosing based on a mix of stage size and what stages can be handled without lagging. 4) Bigger stages - Palutenas Temple was going to be the new Temple for my friends and I, but it looks like Temples coming back anyway. // Big Battlefield? lol 5) Danger Zone - DAYNJA ZOOONE! https://youtube/watch?v=RRU3I_o1vLc // These look brutal, but Im up for that. 6) Dual-Plane Battling - This Direct is nuts so far. Glad to see Gear Getaways probably gonna be in both versions :) 7) Number of stages - More in Wii U than 3DS, Id certainly hope so... // Bigger Gaur Plain, thank you! // 75m -_- // Norfair looks amazing in HD 8) Miiverse Stage - Oh, this is gonna end badly... you know how Miiverse gets. 9) Palutenas Guidance - MAN, WHAT A BUNCH OF JOKERS! But seriously, wouldve been a missed opportunity if this didnt happen. // FREAKIN CHROM // Star Fox back, good. 10) Metal Face - He gets his own section? Sweet. // Thats how you pronounce Gaur...? // One Who Gets In Our Way! 11) Ridley - Here we go... // He IS a boss. Just like it was hinted. // Thats a cool way to implement a boss fight. 12) Coin Battles - Did anyone ever play this? Good to see it return though. 13) Stamina Battles - Yaaay! Something I missed having in 3DS. 14) Special Smash - Oh yeah! 15) Item Frequency - Also something missing from 3DS. 16) My Music - Im a huge VG Soundtrack whore, so Ill love this. 17) Menu Music - So glad we can change this. Not a great fan of Melee 2... 18) Loads of Music - YES // I wish the bars actually had a scale. // The electric guitar Skyloft always reminds me of the version Hyrule Warriors have. 19) Composers - Not bad, not bad at all! 20) CDs - Fair enough // the announcer must have fun putting this voice on. 21) Challenges - More, and harder. Thank god. 22) Classic Mode - Different. This looks good. 23) Clear Movies - Gotta View Em All! 24) All-Star Mode - Gonna go back in time! Also they showeed Bowser Jr. trophy before official reveal. Not that I care. 25) Event Mode - Glad to see it return. // I hope 2P Events are as comprehensive as 1P. // That Peach side-B in the Smash Run sequence... why didnt I think of that? 26) Smash Tour - So Smash Mario Party, right? // Collecting fighters to use, Ive seen this done before. It works. // Having stock change your character seems good. 27) Target Blast - Alright. // More target ranges, good. 28) Group Stadium - Sounds alright. // Shulk missed with Smash in Home Run Contest, haha. 29) Special Orders - Sounds pretty good, I think Ill get a lot of mileage out of this. Not sure I completely get it, though. 30) Master Fortress - Master Cores formed are named, nice // So its the closest thing to Wii U Smash Run, right? 31) Controllers - Button settings look really customisable which should be interesting. 32) GC Controller Adapter - I want that Smash controller, man... 33) 3DS as a Controller - Decent. 34) Connecting to 3DS - Glad I wont have to make new customs, not that Ive made many. 35) Loads of Trophies - FIORUH 36) Final Smash Trophies - Also something I felt was missing from 3DS. 37) Trophy Exhibits - Collectapedia? Im gonna love this more than I should. Such a completionist... 38) Photo Studio - That Dunban/Mr. Saturn... Im glad its a lot more customisable. 39) Trophy Rush - Co-op is cool, as is competing. 40) Masterpieces - MASTERPIECES // Earthbound, thats cool. I guess its understandable that theyre all Super Nintendo at latest. 41) amiibo - Im gonna waste so much money. Also, glad to have a use for my unused custom items. 42) Internet connection - Speaking of which, I hate mine. People keep throwing For Glory matches because I lag them out. // Wii LAN adapter would be nice, though my personal circumstances wont allow it // Oh to have good internet... itd be amazing. 43) Automatic Notices - I hope these arent annoying. 44) Friends and Tags - Online together is cool. 45) Tournaments - Online Tournaments, thank god. I wont have to go through the hectic process of the Shulk Only one I did! // Sounds as if it works like the Mario Kart 8 ones. Not the same structure as I previously thought, but thats cool. 46) Official Tournaments - This is good too. Wish it was online, but Im not complaining. 47) Wii U Gamepad - Alright usage. I cant see the screen being useful for much else in this case. 48) Paint - Thisll produce some amazing content, I can tell. 49) Voice Chat - On the Gamepad, theres a MICROPHONE! // Disables through the battles? Fair enough, I guess. 50) Stage Builder - Freehand looks amazing. // Yay, I can make a box with one square to exit again. 51) Sharing - Fifty-one?! Audible gasp! This is cool. Other Modes - This doesnt have a number? Kay. Theres still three minutes on the end of this video. Bowser Jr. Clowns the Competition! - That sentence doesnt sound right. // Somehow theres a lot less hype while watching this. // 8P Koopaling Smash, anyone? 52) Movies - Were still here?! Im not complaining though... 53) Premium Sound Selection - I dont think Nintendo can count to 50. Again, not complaining. // Im getting on this, for sure. // THAT ENGAGE THE ENEMY REMIX 54) Mewtwo is on the way! - Id be a lot more surprised if I hadnt had it spoiled... but yeah. Thats cool. I was never a huge fan, but its good to know DLC is coming! Well, that was pretty good, and somehow it manages to make the 3DS Version look very bare-bones. Im ready to SETTLE IT IN SMASH WII U!
