The agency has announced its plans to approve applications for horse slaughter inspections to allow these plants to operate. This approval was given despite the brutality of horse slaughter, the devastating impact horse slaughter plants have on communities, the fact that Congress is likely to cut off funding for horse slaughter, and the potential danger horsemeat poses to human health. Please call the White House at 202-456-1111 and tell President Obama that you are disappointed in his administration’s decision to resume horse slaughter on U.S. soil and ask him to take a stand against this inhumane, unnecessary, and wasteful practice.
