Although Anastasia joined us as a stray, its clear she was a well taken care of companion as her coat is lush and well groomed, her weight perfect for her size and she gives all indications of being housetrained. At this writing, shes a bit stressed trying to figure out where her people went and get her bearings in a very different environment. Shes a bit shy, happy for my overtures of friendship, but not quite sure what to do with them. Off leash in the backyard she stands by the door greeting other dogs who stop by the pen with a friendly tail wag. Shes a beautiful girl whos lost her way and is looking for a new family to love. Joining us as a stray, this beautifully groomed little girl took some time to warm up and become as comfortable as a dog can be in a new environment. A breakthrough for this little girl, who is now showing us her gentle, and sweet personality. Shes tail waggy, kissy, playful and fun. Greeting other dogs with a happy wag of her tail, Anastasia is ready for anything. She prances around the pen, pouncing on a ball, but not retrieving, sitting when I ask her to making soft easy eye contact. Enjoying a good stretch, she steps over for some petting and snuggling. She has an elegant, regal step as she walks, and then gets playfully silly as I toss a ball. Shes likely housetrained going as soon as we were out the door, and is waiting to show her new family her good manners. Anastasia is a special little girl who aced her behavior assessment indicating she will be a good fit in just about any family situation.
