Always had long hair which was tied in pigtails by my mother. When I was about ten, I had to cut my hair short after having suffered from Typhoid as I was losing a lot of hair. For the next three years, I was happy with short hair. Then I let my hair grow back to its original length - waist length. But alas, I cut it again during my cousins wedding, in the heat of the moment, to get a fancy style. Eventually, grew it back, but only shoulder length and kept it tied in a ponytail with a few bangs on my forehead. By the time I was out of high school, I was compelled by my ex (who was my childhood sweetheart then) to get rid of the ponytail and have my hair cut in a way that I could leave it short and open. I have maintained the same style in varying lengths till date - almost 27 years. Now that I have been too lazy to have the usual bi-monthly haircut, I am back to tying it in a ponytail. And its so comfortable, so easy to manage especially when you are sweating and so liberating with nothing nagging me around my neck. I guess, I will grow my hair and tie it up for ease and comfort. The crazy things we do in the name of love...phew...
