Always liked Kim Carnes singing and her voice has a very raspy and throaty sound to it. This song, Bette Davis Eyes was written in 1974 by Donna Weiss and Jackie DeShannon. DeShannon recorded the song in 1974, (you can hear her version on You Tube which to me is a let down)...but it was not until 1981 that Carnes recorded the song (her way) that made it a huge success. In fact, the song was #1 for 9 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and a #1 hit in 31 countries. The song won the Grammy Awards for the Song of the Year and Record of the Year.
