Alyssa Update: Alyssa is still in the ICU at Childrens Hospital. She has lost most of her cognitive ability and is not talking. The doctors still arent sure what the spotting is that was shown on the MRI of her brain. They think its either something post infectious or anoxic (meaning she lost oxygen to her brain over for more than 5 minutes). She is having trouble following simple commands (such as close your eyes or move your fingers). The doctors are unsure whether she will improve, get worse, or if this is her new baseline. All I ask is that my family and friends continue to keep her in your thoughts during this difficult time.
