Am I the only one who is increasingly disturbed by the fact that we seem to have to resort more and more to, for lack of a better word, gimmicks such bucket challenges to get people to contribute to charitable endeavors? I realize that we always have had events and campaigns such as these, but it now seems to have been taken to a whole new level. Is it no longer enough simply to care about others and stand in solidarity with them so that our hearts may be stirred? Will we have to rely more and more on bucket challenges to prompt us to any sort of action? Im sorry if my use of the word gimmicks is harsh or offensive, but I cant think of a better word at the moment.
