Am I the only person who finds themselves shaking their head in despair at the very mention of Black Friday? The retailers have manufactured an event and created a level of panic and need in consumers who are terrified theyll miss out on deals. Its on a par with the boxing day sales, with people compelled by their carefully created consumer compulsion to forgo another day away from the shops other than Christmas Day, during which they browse online.
