Am I the only person who thinks this is stupid? Lets discuss - TopicsExpress

Am I the only person who thinks this is stupid? Lets discuss it: We live now in modern times, in the most peaceful and crimefree era ever - media sensationalism doesnt let you know that, but its true, per capita there is less crime now than ever before in the known history of mankind. This article even says theft is on the decline. So how exactly can we justify sending officers to fiddle with damn car doors around town to see if thieves would have an easy time? If I wanted to know that, I would honestly just hire a criminal to find out for me. The police forces job isnt to go out and do this kind of shit, there are real crimes that take place and needed to be tended to. Yet they will be doing this on your dime Next lets talk about the artificial and dangerous scenarios this creates: 1. What if the officer fails to identify themselves on time, and some guy comes busting out of a store attacking him for messing with his car? Lets face it, 90% of us, if not more, would feel an extreme violation of privacy with people searching through our car. A large portion of those people would turn to violent means to protect their property. Just saying, if I saw somebody messing with my car handles, and I wasnt 100% they were a cop, they would be getting assaulted. 2. Leaving notes on the cars has to be dumbest thing Ive seen literally ever. What happens when a thief does come through the parking lot? LOL Then he has all these notes that tell him what people did wrong, how they didnt secure etc. Meanwhile in the range of positives this bring theres... oh.. nothing. This isnt going to prevent theft. And if people dont know to lock their doors by now, I highly doubt this will make them care enough to do so. Its literally helping the thugs more than the potential victims. I dont think our police department should be wasting time or funds on this poorly thought out initiative.
