Amazing how many die hard Progressive Democrat activists I respect, are suddenly mute on SB 93. Like deer caught in the headlights, because they cant bear the reality that some of the Democratic Senators they love helped move this bill out of the Senate. Or worse, theyre afraid of industry backlash. For those of us who are assaulted by industry backlash daily, we say, So what? Have the courage to stand up for whats right, not whats politically easy. Help correct this legislative faux pas, and support House Democrats and open rural House Republicans kill this bill. Learn from the experience, and move on. Democrat activists doing nothing when their partys elected err, feeds into the Do nothing Dems label. Stand up for people, not your party on SB 93. Call your house reps, and kill this bill. If you dont, this one is going to hurt come election day, guaranteed. Its up to Democratic candidates to defend their legislative votes. The base shouldnt have to defend bad policy. In doing so, the Democratic party as a whole becomes no different than the parties they oppose. And this is what unaffiliated voters - the voters the party needs desperately for GOTV efforts to win and keep Democrat seats - see. Two faces of the same corporate coin. At least the Republicans openly flaunt their blatant disrespect for people in public policy. Unlike the Democrats that pretend people matter, as long as it doesnt conflict with oil and gas interests. The strategy to keep up party solidarity around Hickenlooper wont work come November.
