Amazing support for Part 1 of 3 articles running this week in the Republican and on Masslive about Ethans struggle with addiction-from pills to Herion in such a short period of time . I know not everyone supports us, or our efforts, and that is okay..I also know that by coming out , we will have saved lives.. some we may not even know we have saved; I cant tell you how proud i am that he is willing to speak out, or that he was willing for me to begin a movement toward recovery by putting a face to the mom of an addict.. Someone asked me if I would continue this journey if I lost my son, I said I would have to take time to mourn, but would come back lounder than ever before. I hope that is never the case, but honestly , it is the fear we all live with , if we are the family of someone with this horrid disease. If you have been touched , moved or want to help, you can. .. lend your voice to our efforts; we will be walking on May 3..some running. This money goes to Project Purple=The Herren Project, who will, in the event you or a family member ever needs help, help. We have used these services; we know it is genuine. At the walk /run will be representatives from Clean Slate, Spectrum System, Adcare, Valley Human Services, Wal-Greens ( we will know by this week if they will be able to NARCAN train) Dr. Peter Ouellette, 12 step information and information for families on where to get support and the fun part: Janines Frosty to hand out ice cream!!! The addict needs treatment=the family? They need support. This is not an easy journey, this disease takes hostages. But you dont have to crumble beneath it.. take someones hand, they will help pull you through.
