Amazing time at Commonwealth Games Yesterday .... Tollcross Swimming venue fantastic and couldnt fault the friendliness etc.. BUT cannot say the same for Glasgow,,, simply not coping with the number of visitors... I love Glasgow and know it Inside out.. But -mum and dad desperate for a cold drink after train with no aircon despite extortionate prices(oh, or sufficient capacity for numbers so standing room only.. Nice....) first three outside bars on main drag said they werent taking any more orders (despite empty tables) 4th one.. Had to wait forever before literally begging.. Whereupon waiter said well one of me and look at all these tables ... Precisely,.. Not his fault but tight owners not engaging sufficient staff,,, a home goal as wont get any repeat foot fall from these prospective customers in future ,,then fab restaurant - well normally- Tony Maccoroni in Merchant City... Suffice to say abysmal service..& when eventually arrived.. In edible,,, everyone around same experience,. ( how can you screw up Bruschetta/focaccia??!!!) And incredibly slow so everyone agitated as missing events,,, shame.., At venue itself tho, all staff amazing and friendly... So proud re what Scots have achieved at these games. Magical Night at Tollcross Swimming made up for it,.! X☀️🏊🐴! xXx
