Amendment VI In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence. *Means: They may not lock you up and just hold you for some indeterminate amount of time until they get around to your trial. You may not be arrested without being told of what crime you are accused. This also means the cops may not just arrest you now and come up with charges later, like has happened before where an individual may stand up for his or her Constitutional rights, which are being violated, and being arrested for no good reason except irritating a cop. "Legitimate" charges being filed later. You have a right to an untainted, unprejudiced, unbiased jury. You have the right to ALL the same resources in your defense as the prosecution has toward your conviction.
