??? America pretending ,as usual, to care as history repeats itself ??? How the story of the American natives and European settlers was presented to us as kids: When I was a kid, I loved cowboy movies; nature, riding horses, and the fights with the “poor” white settlers, those European pilgrims who came to America to have a better life. They came from all the corners of the world to America, and America was a promised-land like for them. They came to embetter their lives and prosper. It’s a great adventure. And I felt pity for them when “those barbarian and savage Indians attacked them, and slaughtered them”. “How savage they were!” I thought. This was the image presented to me, to us kids, on the black and white screen in the 70s at that time. This was what I learned about those Indians from those movies. However, when I was in high school and started maturing and learning more and more about the world and its history, I came across the “discovery of America”. And that was the time I started learning the true story and history of the Indian natives and the American settlers. How different the image is now: The settlers came to improve their lives at the expense of the poor Indians. They came to embetter their lives but also to embitter the natives’ lives by taking their land and kicking them to the swamps and reservations. What would the Indians do apart from fighting for their land? The Indians tried to stop them from invading and taking the land, but the settlers labeled them as culprits, savage and brought more guns and cannons to fight them. The native warriors were slaughtered and so were their tribes- children and elderly. Only those who submitted or ran to the forests and mountains were able to survive in the harsh conditions of the land and weather. History repeats itself: When you look at the situation of the Israelis and the Palestinians, it really resembles the natives Indians and European settlers ; the Jewish settlers came from all the corners of the world, they embittered their lives and embittered the Palestinians lives, and they kicked the Arabs from their land. Those who fought against the settlement are called terrorists, savage, and slaughtered, and so are the civilians. The media nowadays, show that those Palestinians are terrorists and savage who try to hurt those nice innocent settlers. What a shame that we live in a world where some people still have to support and bend to modern Pompeii s and Pharaohs. Things are done in the name of Tyranny instead of the names Justice and Democracy.
