American Airlines needs sensitivity training, to say the - TopicsExpress

American Airlines needs sensitivity training, to say the least! On my way back from Cleveland this afternoon, the following happened. When I arrived at my connection city of Dallas, the guys who helped disabled passengers transfer from plane to plane came on. They brought onboard the aisle chair, which they use to get you from the seat to your wheelchair. The one guy asked if I could stand and get in the chair. I said yes, no problem. He then told the other guy, Dont listen to him, grab his legs. I yelled, Are you out of your fing mind, I said I got this. I needed to get their attention, because I have been jostled around before, causing minor bumps and so forth. Once I had their attention, I said look, Im fine and proceeded to get in the aisle chair. When I later was boarding the connecting plane, the pilot, Captain Jack Parker, introduced himself. He said to me, I want you to promise youll be on your best behavior on this flight. I said. I hope youll be on yours too. He should have asked what happened and not spoken to me as I was five. I explained what happened and all he said was, I guess if that happened to me, I would have been pissed too. Then the flight attendants were condescending. I fly all the time and this situation needs to be rectified. Not only for myself, but other disabled people as well. Chris Fonseca 719=377-2147
