Americans are becoming ever more wary as they watch the Obama regimes mismanagement of the Ebola crisis. Increasing concerns about the spread of the deadly virus and other disease threats are given basis in fact via this shocking Judicial Watch report detailing that the administration is “actively formulating plans” to admit Ebola infected non-citizens into the U.S. for treatment. Adding to the potential epidemic distress is the under-reported invasion of Enterovirus (EV-D68) ---- a disease with roots in Central America. A medical study conducted last year at the U.S. Naval Medical Research Unit in Lima, Peru corroborates the need for vigilance. Published in Virology Journal, the study is titled “Human rhinoviruses and enteroviruses in influenza-like illness in Latin America.” The Texas Tribune reports that respiratory illnesses have repeatedly been confirmed among the “unaccompanied minors” being dispersed throughout the United States. Doctors providing medical care for those illegally entering and subsequently being released by U.S. Border Patrol in advance of their court dates, say those recent detainees were not appropriately screened or treated for illness while in federal custody. Enterovirus EV-D68 arrived here with the hordes of children carrying Third-World diseases into the U.S. How many classrooms have been contaminated and once-healthy American children exposed? The tragic death of Luke Smith, a Peoria, Ariz. first-grader who exhibited symptoms of a severe respiratory condition before succumbing to the disease raises questions. After his death was announced school attendance plummeted as concerned parents kept their children home. KPHO-TV-5 (video) has more. That horrific news was followed by this KTVK TV-3 report (video) of a healthy Valley infant who died of complications of Enterovirus rhinovirus just days ago. Reuters reports the virus strain has infected nearly 700 people, most of them children, in 46 states and the District of Columbia since mid-August, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
