Americans are finally feeling more positive about the economy, and that’s good. There’s a lot of psychology in economics, and it’s hard to get out of a depression when consumers are actually feeling depressed. But a number of recent polls show that Americans are finally feeling better about the future. A CNN poll found that 51 percent think the economy is either “somewhat good” or “very good.” That’s the first time a majority has been positive about the economy in seven years. Naturally, a lot of people in Washington are rushing to the TV cameras for take credit. But if you don’t want to sour the people’s good mood, better not ask them whether they’re upbeat because Obama’s fixed the economy or because after the last election, they know he can’t do any more to “fix” it.
