Americans are in a big hurry. Our culture is the fastest paced, harried, society in the world today. Why? In olden days, back in the 20s, 30s, and 40s, many of you have had grandparents tell you of times more slow, when people would sit on their porches and talk, sit on their porches and just stare out into the landscape, into space. That greatest generation were very hard workers, but they knew when to slow down, stop and be still. How come we do not today? What is the spiritual reasoning and implications of a non-stop, crazy life that cant slow down? One, you miss God in the speed. God is seldom found at 200 mph, but He is oftentimes found when at rest or after crashing at that speed. Two, technology and entertainment is so addictive, it is like a drug (like speed) and is hard to put down. It is no accident that fewer people are trusting God today and they are busier than ever. Take the time to slow down before God slows you down in ways we dont want...hope you get the hint!
