Americas 9/11 Kamikazes I came across a story about 9/11 yesterday that has to be 1 of the best kept secrets and most heroic untold tales of 9/11. The reason its that way is because Colonel Marc Sasserville and Lieutenant Heather Lucky Penney feel that their actions on that day were insignificant and of no merit and have gone out of their way to bury the whole thing, because, they dont want to take away in any form or fashion from the sacrifice made by the true heros, the Passengers of the 4th Jet, flight 93, in which the passengers gave their lives storming the Cockpit and crashing the plane foiling the Terrorists dastardly plan. It seems that the reason the 3rd jet on 9/11 was able to crash into the Pentagon is because for some reason defying all common sense the Plane was flying to low to shoot down with a Missile and for some unexplainable reason, there wasnt an Aircraft on the Eastern Seaboard that was armed and ready for action- even worse the 1 closest to being ready would take at least 2 hrs. to prepare. Thats when Colonel Sasserville and Lieutenant Penney, appairently without orders, sprang into action. They both jumped into their Jets, fired up their engines disregarding any of their pre-flight check procedures and with their flight crews literally running down the tarmac preforming their pre-flight duties on the planes, rolled towards the runway. As they hit their afterburners to take off, Colonel Sasserville looked over at Lieutenant Penney in her Plane and said, Ill take the Cockpit. She responded, Ill take the tail. Now the intent here of these 2 is obvious and the fact that the Passengers did the job so these 2 didnt have to shouldnt take away from what these 2 were willing to do on the awful day with out being asked or ordered and with no illusions about seeing the sunrise the next day. I think its just this side of criminal that in everything else, they were not only willing to give their lives voluntarily that day, but, they were the only 2 Americans that morning that went out with the specific intent of dying for their Country and have never been heard of. So, if you could, remember this story next 9/11 and give these 2 a special shout out, because, they really deserve alot more then a forgotten footnote in history.
