Amused at this mornings comments in the Boomerang about the proposed constitutional amendment (that went down by more than 70 percent of voters opposed). One legislator is quoted as saying that people just reflexively voted no, not having heard anything about it before going into the polling booth. Voters didnt consider that two seats were to be so allocated to make room for, perhaps, the two Koch brothers? (Couldnt let just one on, could we?) It confirms my objections to the amendment (to add non-residents to the UW trustees), but it also demonstrates that many legislators, gerrymandered into safe districts, actually have contempt for the average Wyoming voter. Maybe it is time to get a constitutional amendment to eliminate single-member districts and go back to at-large elections by county? It would increase the pool of qualified applicants/candidates.....
