An Address to the minorities Commission in 1958 by the Late Sardauna of Sokoto the then premier of Northern Nigeria to the Northern Region Minority leaders:They are J.S. Olatinwo, J.S. Tarka and Pastor David Lot,and i QUOTE......."I was not elected to the leadership of this party, nor was i appointed premier by His Excellency, because i am fulani. In my election as head of the government party, votes were cast in my favour by representatives of virtually every tribe in the region and it is this fact in particular which makes me both proud and humble and gives to me a determination to serve people who have placed their trust in my self and my party, without fear or favour and without regard of blood or rank or creed." A lesson for GEJ to unite his party and the nation.
