An Estonian Mait Nilson, a mechanical engineer and entrepreneur, will depart November 2 from Tallinn, Estonia, in an attempt to circumnavigate the globe in an amphibious vehicle. If successful, he will cover 60,000 kilometers in 9 months and establish several new world records for amphibious crossings. Nilson’s vehicle, Amphibear, will be the first self-made amphibious car to circumnavigate the globe, and the second time in history for an amphibious vehicle to make the journey. Amphibear will cover 60,000 kilometers over land and sea, traveling through these countries: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Italy, France, Spain, Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal, Cabo Verde, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Panama, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico, USA, Canada and Russia.
