An Update from Desert Institute: We are now into week three of the government shutdown and the Joshua Tree National Park closure. The Desert Institute conducted the Night Sky Photography class on Saturday and Sunday. Many thanks to the City of Twentynine Palms and the Skys the Limit Observatory for partnering with the Desert Institute during these trying times! See more images on his Facebook page. This class will be repeated again on April 5 & 6, 2014. Fridays Black Rock Canyon Lecture with Cindy Stoddard may be cancelled if the park is not reopened. We will send out another email later this week with an announcement. As many of our classes are park specific, like the hikes, and unless the park closure is lifted, we will have to cancel the class. Of course, all cancellations will be refunded immediately. We will officially cancel classes on the Wednesday prior to the class and those of you who are enrolled will be notified by email. For those readers who wish to enroll in future classes, please use our website as we have no staffing in our offices. Of course, you can contact us by email during this crisis at [email protected].
